Photo Tips
Quality photos are essential to your success.
For best results, we offer these tips for taking good photos:
- Take exterior photos of your property on a sunny day when the sky is blue. Avoid shadows and make sure the sun is shining on the front of your house. Dull days produce dull photos!
- Take interior photos during daylight hours. Turn lights on in every room and use your camera’s automatic flash. Do not take interior photos after the sun has set.
- To avoid glare and reflection - do not shoot directly into a window or mirror.
- To avoid blurry or poor quality photos - Hold your camera absolutely still when taking pictures! Do not post dark or blurry photos online!
- Concentrate on taking the most attractive rooms in your house. Usually, one bedroom photo is sufficient.
- Photograph your rooms in sequence just as you wish to see them posted online. Start with the front exterior of your house, followed by your living room, dining room, kitchen, family room, master bedroom, master bathroom, rear exterior, pool, backyard and gardens. Take plenty of photos and select only the best! Our site will allow you to post up to nine photos with your listing.
- To obtain nice photos, it may be necessary to rearrange some furniture, clear off countertops, fold towels, close toilet lids and remove papers on the refrigerator. Your property’s online appearance will make a difference to a prospective Buyer! When in doubt, ask another person’s opinion of the quality of the photos. (When in doubt, more light is always better than less!)
- Remove all personal items and valuables before taking pictures. Try to showcase your home, not your valuables!
